English/Theater teacher, Mr. Clint Ambs, is also the host of the Teacher Talent Show.

Mr. Ambs: a real life “JANDY”

Mr. Clinton Ambs is an English teacher and winter musical director who has been working at Delaware Valley Regional High School for 14 years, and he is very exhilarated to be teaching two of his favorite subjects.

When this The Office-loving teacher is not grading research papers, or deciding what this year’s musical will be, he is spending time with friends, family, wife, and dog, Rosie. His one-year-old cavapoo is a little bit sassy who Mr. Ambs has stated “enjoys eating all my food.” Although it’s unknown whether she is a fan of The Office, Mr. Ambs certainly is. He included his favorite character when talking about his love of The Office which he said was, “Dwight, by a mile, is my favorite character. I just love Dwight. I wish he was my friend.” He explained how he loves Dwight’s intensity, dedication, and his love/hate relationship with Jim and Pam. Mr. Ambs describes himself as a combination of Jim and Andy (Jandy)…. with a pinch of Stanley!

Some may wonder why Mr. Ambs decided to be a part of the Del Val family. “I think Del Val picked me,” Ambs said. “My closest friend on the Del Val staff is Kyle Tinnes…a tie between Kyle Tinnes and Heather Fleischman” Ambs said. Another reason why he loves Del Val is because he gets to “teach everything that I love teaching,” which includes theater and English.

Of course his love for theater didn’t just appear overnight. He was in multiple productions during his high school days, and he also participated in soccer (as a goalie), marching band, choirs, track and field, key club, student council, peer leaders, and was the captain of the varsity swim team.

By the way, according to an upperclassman in the room during the interview, “This year’s musical is… Shrek.”
