AP Computer Science Principles with Mr. Murphy
Next year, Mr. Murphy will be teaching AP Computer Science Principles.
Don’t let the AP title scare you; it’s a class meant for beginners but is enjoyable for students with all levels of experience with computer science.
Students will learn how to code with Scratch and Python as well as how to edit photos and music. They will also learn about computer hardware, data aggregation, cyber security and even more.
It is a very hands-on and project-based class, so students can practice what they learn.
Mr. Murphy believes that AP Computer Science Principles stands out from others at Del Val because, “unlike most other high school topics, computer science is one that students can actually turn into a hobby as well as a lucrative profession.”
Mr. Murphy encourages any interested students to reach out to him.
