A look into the MLB Playoffs’ top teams

Intro

The Major League Baseball season has come to an end, and the playoffs are ahead of us.

Every team that makes the postseason has a chance at winning it all, but some teams have a better chance of winning than others.

There are four teams that get a first round bye: the Yankees and Guardians from the American League, and the Dodgers and Phillies from the National League.

These four teams have the highest prediction to win out of all teams.

The New York Yankees

The New York Yankees took first place in the American League finishing the season with a 94-68 record.

They were led by their two star players: Aaron Judge and Juan Soto. Judge finished the season with a batting average of .322, 58 home runs and 144 RBIs. Soto finished the season with a .288 batting average, 41 home runs and 109 RBIs.

The duo of Judge and Soto was powerful during the regular season, but now it’s going to be put to the test when it matters most.

The Yankees will take on the Royals in the ALDS which starts this Saturday.

After a disappointing 2023, the Yankees look to bring home World Series win number 28 and its first since 2009.

The Cleveland Guardians

The Cleveland Guardians finished the season with a 92-69 record, which was first in the AL Central and second overall in the American League.

Two of its stars this year were Josè Ramírez and Josh Naylor.

Ramírez finished the season with a batting average of .279, 39 home runs and 118 RBIs. Ramírez has been one of the most consistent players the last few seasons and he should play a major part in the Guardians’ run for a World Series.

Naylor finished the season with a batting average of .243, 31 home runs and 108 RBIs.

The Guardians will play the Tigers in the ALDS. They look to get their third World Series win, and the first since 1948.

The Los Angeles Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers finished the season with a 98-64 record: the best record in the entire MLB.

The Dodgers were led by Shohei Ohtani and Teoscar Hernández.

Shohei has a .310 batting average, 54 home runs and 130 RBIs. Hernández has a batting average of .272, 33 home runs and 89 RBIs.

The Dodgers have been one of the top teams in the MLB the past few years, and they have seven World Series titles. Their most recent title was in 2020.

They are one of the top threats in the MLB, and they look to make that known when they take on the Padres.

The Philadelphia Phillies

The Philadelphia Phillies finished the season with a 95-67 record. They have the second best record in the National League.

They were led by Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper. This season Schwarber hit for a .248 batting average, 38 home runs, and 104 RBIs. Harper hit for a .285 batting average, 30 home runs and 87 RBIs.

The Phillies have been in the past two National League championship series, and they have a lot of hope this year.

Just two years ago, they were in the World Series. They lost the title, but they have made a run for it in the past few years.

The Phillies are looking to get its third World Series championship, its first since 2008. They will take on the Mets.
