Top five picks in the NFL draft

With the NFL draft beginning on Thursday, many fans are still wondering who their team will draft with one of the top picks. This year’s draft is full of young stars who are difference makers and any of them could be drafted at any point.

The Tennessee Titans have the 1st pick in the draft, and their pick could be very interesting considering their whole team is mediocre. With the first pick, the Tennessee Titans will draft quarterback Cam Ward out of The University of Miami.

The Cleveland Browns have solid quarterbacks and running backs. With the re-signing of Miles Garrett, they won’t need to draft an edge rusher, like Abdul Carter, or a defensive tackle, like Mason Graham. With the second pick, the Browns will draft wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter out of Colorado. Pairing him with Greg Newsome II in the secondary would make the Browns defense significantly better.

With the third pick, the New York Giants will need to draft an offensive lineman. The offensive line has been horrendous the past couple years, so they could use the help. Though it isn’t as flashy or exciting as if they were to pick a quarterback, they will most likely draft Armand Mambou out of Missouri.

“I think the Giants are going to pick Abdul Carter,” sophomore James Lampert said. “Pairing him with Brian Burns and Dexter Lawrence would be insane.”

The New England Patriots hold the fourth pick, and their biggest positional need is the defensive line. Even by bringing in Milton Williams in free agency, their defense is still weak. Abdul Carter out of Penn State is the best overall edge rusher in the draft, and he’s going to the New England Patriots.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are at the fifth spot, and they have a solid team. After Calais Campbell signed with the Cardinals, they will have a hole to fill on the defensive line. If Mason Graham from Michigan is still on the draft board, he will go to the Jaguars.

The top five picks in this draft are interesting yet confusing. Players projected in the top 10 might go in the top five. Some projected top five might fall out of he top 10, but maybe there’ll be a few trades as well.
