Del Val’s annual food drive is up and running again this year, but with one major change. It will last the entire school year.
With the holidays around the corner, students, faculty and staff are encouraged to donate various food items, toiletries and kitchen essentials to keep shelves stocked at four local pantries.
The most important items needed are cleaning supplies, toiletries and feminine hygiene products.
Donations can be dropped off in boxes found around the school. Those boxes are located towards the counselors’ office, near the main office and at the end of D-hall.
The donations in front of the main office are separated into four boxes, each representing a grade level. The grade with the most donations in their box will gain points for their grade in the Terrier Cup.
Students can also donate gift cards and monetary donations for bonus points. These donations must be made to the Main Office or Amanda Matlee, who has been one of the primary organizers of this event, in D121.
“Each and every one of us has the ability to make a difference right here in our community,” Matlee said.
Although it is important for everyone to have enough food for the holidays, meals after these events are just as important. If there are additional questions, please contact the main office or Matlee in D121.
