The cast of the 2024 fall play, “Little Women,” is getting ready to perform the show on the Del Val stage. The cast has been preparing since mid-Sept., and the students are ready to put the production onto the stage in a few weeks.
“The start of the preparation process was a little rocky but has since been awesome,” director Lisa Cartwright said. “I feel like once we got a schedule going and everyone was on the same page working together, it has been a really good time and everyone stepped up to bring our cast closer together.”
One of the two student directors, senior Kallie Fiorito, seconds Cartwright’s excitement about the process.
“I think that rehearsals so far have been going very well,” Fiorito said. “The cast and crew are doing so well with the direction the other student director, Maxim Verdicchio, and I have given them, and they are all definitely getting the hang of the show.”
Whether a stage-hand, crew member or a part of the cast, everyone is feeling excited and ready to give the audience a show to remember. Senior Jessica McGlothlin plays the role of Josephine (Jo) March, one of the leads in the show. She is happy to be a part of the cast and to be performing in one of her dream roles.
“When I received the role, I was absolutely elated,” McGlothlin said. “I love Jo March with all my heart and have ever since I was a little kid. Everyone has their March sister, Jo is mine, and getting the chance to step into her shoes is nothing short of a dream come true.”
Freshman Lucia Devine, another one of the leads, shares similar sentiments to McGlothlin.
”When I got the role of Amy March, I was super excited,” Devine said. “I am very happy to be part of such an amazing cast.”
