This year, Delaware Valley’s JV Football team had a shocking season, going undefeated with eight wins and zero losses.
Del Val football’s talent didn’t magically happen. According to head coach Patrick LaFevre, the team put hard work and lots of time into improving the team.
“I think what helped them the most was them actually buying in and believing that JV was worth while playing,” LaFevre said.
Bonding as a team made working together easier and more remarkable for the boys. The team made lots of memories. As they continued to win, they grew closer and built momentum. “Lots of laughs, lots of joking around,” Lafevre said.
In their final game of the season against New Providence, they faced the real challenge. Delaware Valley was intimidated by the team’s tough look, but they persevered, making the season a memorable one. Quarterback, Jon Scrima, says the team’s skill of “Great coaching, awesome defense, and great playmakers on offense” helped lead the team to success.
Overall, the recipe for success, in Del Val’s case, was believing themselves even when times were tough. “Im hoping that moving forward they will try harder and believe in themselves that way we can do more next year at the varsity level,” LaFevre said.
