“What am I going to do with my life?” is a question that many students ask themselves daily.
In 2024, there are many different job options, and thinking that you may be stuck in an unfulfilling job for the rest of your life may scare you.
Waking up and going to school in the morning may be boring; it can feel repetitive because of the classes that you take. Besides taking eight classes per year to make you a well rounded student, these classes can make you interested in topics that you didn’t know about: such as math, science and history classes. To add on to this, there are more diverse classes, such as photography, Design and Materials, drawing, journalism and business. These classes, along with others, can all lead to more serious professions; Delaware Valley High School offers all of these.
On Dec. 19, 2024, there was a “Course Fair” in the school’s Commons to help the high school students decide and choose classes to fit their personal interests or discover new ones.
Walking into the course fair is exciting. There are posters and eye-catching attractions for each different class. There are many tables to look at, and students have the ability to talk to teachers about their classes or talk to students that are currently taking the elective.
There were many different table set-up: journalism, business, photography, dancing, astronomy, choir and theater. If any of these spark your interest, talk to your counselor and start planning soon.
If you happened to miss this event, don’t worry. Click here to view Del Val’s programs of study. You are able to look at every class Del Val offers: fine arts, practice arts, maths, sciences, history, sciences, languages and many more.
This is a great way for students to get excited about careers they might have an interest in. Finding the right classes for yourself is great, even as a freshman. The earlier you start, the better.
