The Del Val basketball program has had many talented athletes, and one of those young players is Thomas Denvir. Denvir was one of the leading scorers on the freshman basketball team this year. 

Denvir has heritage in the Del Val basketball program, with older brothers John and Frankie Denvir also playing basketball during their time at Del Val.

Denvir admits that playing as a freshman wasn’t easy.

“Yes, this has been a tough season but also a great experience,” Denvir said. “Getting used to practice every day and having multiple games a week takes a lot of getting used to.”

Denvir also found positives during his first season.

“We have great communication and were always there to pick each other up,” Denvir said. “And we always come out with energy and are prepared for whatever team we face.” 

Denvir is a hardworking player who not only plays for Del Val’s basketball team but also for other teams outside of the school. He puts in as much work as he can during the offseason, and he is proud of the team’s performance.

“We have got many winning streaks throughout the seasons, and I feel that we have played great all together,” Denvir said. “All of the practices and hard work paid off. It’s been great all around with basketball.”
