The best movies to watch around Halloween
October 28, 2022
Halloween is often known for scary things, which means most Halloween movies have a scary undertone.
While movies like Halloweentown and Hocus Pocus are family friendly, a small child may still be freaked out at some parts of the movie.
Other movies, like Halloween, are more traditional horror movies, which are meant for older audiences. Halloween contains gore, jump scares and topics that are not appropriate for a younger audience.
Movies like Corpse Bride and Monster House are not exactly Halloween movies, however, they are watched around Halloween, and get viewers in a spooky mood.
Here are some of the best movies to watch this Halloween:
Thrillers are often popular, and ‘Scream’ is one of the best. ‘Scream’ is the movie that invented Ghostface, who has been played by many famous actors, including Skeet Ulrich and Matthew Lillard. Ulrich and Lillard were the first to play Ghostface, starring in the 1996 original film.
While thrillers are fun, for those looking for a nice, comedic movie to watch with friends and family, or to even watch solo, is ‘Ghostbusters.’ This film has been famously known for the song, ‘Ghostbusters’ by Ray Parker Jr., which was released in 1984. The movie is funny and had a spin-off in 2016. In 2021, the new sequel, ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife,’ was released.
For romantic Halloween movies, Tim Burton’s ‘Sleepy Hollow’ has a creepy, yet romantic, subplot that warms the heart. Johnny Depp plays Ichabod Crane, and his love interest, Katrina Van Tassel, played by Christina Ricci.
Movies are perfect to get you in the mood for Halloween, and they are also a way to bond with your friends and family this holiday.
