Linkin Park released its new album, “From Zero,” on Friday, Nov. 15. This is the band’s first album since 2017’s “One More Light,” and it is also the first since the death of late singer Chester Bennington.

The band went dark for a while, sharing an unreleased single every once in a while with Bennington’s vocals. However, on Sept. 5, 2024, the band announced their new lead singer, Emily Armstrong, along with the release date for “From Zero.”

The album spans 13 tracks and is 31 minutes long. The best songs on the album consist of “The Emptiness Machine,” “Heavy Is the Crown” and “Over Each Other.”

These songs are similar to the band’s older music, and the vocals that Armstrong and Shinoda presented in the songs are strong.

The rest of the album wasn’t horrible; it just did not feel like a Linkin Park album.

Fans have expressed disdain for the new voice of the band, but as more music comes out, fans will adjust to the new normal. Many die-hard fans didn’t want the change as they thought it was wrong steering away from what Bennington left behind.

However, the band took its music in a new direction, while still honoring the late Bennington.

One thing that hasn’t changed is Mike Shinoda. He mixes in his rap and vocal ability, while Emily Armstrong brings a whole new sound to the band. She does have a similar vocal style to Bennington, but she also brings a new uniqueness to the band.

Linkin Park also announced a tour, starting on Jan. 31, 2025 and ending on Nov. 15, 2025. They are set to visit multiple countries, including Mexico, Japan, the United States and the United Kingdom.

The future looks bright for Linkin Park, as it seems that fans are mostly happy with the album.

Overall, the album was mediocre. While there are some flashes of “old Linkin Park,” it is mostly a whole new wave of sounds.
