Mr. Miklosey scores a job as a teacher and coach

Mr. Miklosey

Samuel Robinson, The Delphi Staff, Class of '19

Mr. Michael Miklosey is a new teacher to Delaware Valley Regional High School with previous ties to the school.

Mr. Miklosey has previously been a soccer coach, a special education assistant, and an alumni. Now he is taking to the classroom to teach the current students at Del Val. Growing up in Camden, NJ for the beginning years of his life, he then moved to Frenchtown, where he would attend Delaware Valley Regional High School. When Mr. Miklosey came to Delaware Valley, he was part of the soccer team; today, he is the boys’ varsity coach. “I remember reading in the newspaper that we were over .500 in the first two weeks for the first time in 7 years” said Mr. Miklosey. He led the team to a very successful season, but soccer is not his main focus this year; his teaching is more important than soccer. “It’s a challenge, especially finding the time for both” Mr. Miklosey said.

Transitioning from being a classroom aide to a full-time teacher is a difficult task, and coaching a team to a winning record makes that job even harder. Most teachers only teach one subject, but Mr. Miklosey teaches history and English. This surely does not decrease the challenges of coaching and teaching. Although his schedule is packed with plenty of challenges, Mr. Miklosey is sure to lead Del Val to victory both inside and outside of the classroom for years to come!
