Harry Styles fourth album, “Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally” includes 12 different tracks and showcases Styles’ musical talents and emotional vocals.
Styles has been a notable figure in pop culture as a solo artist since his first album, “Harry Styles,” in 2017. He has released three albums since then, each of them gaining more traction.
“Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally” was released after Styles took a three-year break from releasing music. The album depicts his personal growth during the period, and shows a vulnerable side to his music.
“He’s changing and how he performs is changing,” freshman Gwen MacDonald, an avid fan of Styles, said. “Overall, I really like it.”
The album’s lead single, “Aperture,” was released on Jan. 22, over a month before the album dropped. “Aperture” received positive reviews and demonstrated a different side to Styles’ music.
His previous albums often included upbeat pop tracks, while “Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally” had more of a pop-synth style.
A memorable song from the album is “American Girls” due to its upbeat track and catchy lyrics. The song is based off Styles’ personal experiences with his friends getting married and conveys a positive tone. The song draws musical connections to “Adore You” and “As It Was,” both of which are fan favorites.
A song that truly showcases both Styles’ talent and vulnerability is “Paint by Numbers.” The song explores melancholic themes and reflects on Styles’ life in the public eye.
“My favorite song right now from his new album is ‘Pop,’” MacDonald said. “It’s very energetic and fun, and really all over the place.”
“Pop” is a unique addition to the album. It includes a synth background and excellent vocals.
“I really enjoyed the album,” MacDonald said. “I was waiting for it so long because he took a long time to make it, but it was so amazing.”
Styles is also performing the album on tour, commencing on May 16.
