Delaware Valley senior goalkeeper and team captain Lucas Schulze made school history on Oct. 9, reaching a boys soccer milestone of 300 career saves in its 2-1 win over Rutgers Prep.
Schulze, a four year player, now holds the school record for most career saves and most saves in a single season. He achieved a total of 186 races during the 2024-2025 season.
This season alone, he’s averaging 7.53 saves per game, anchoring an impressive defensive performance for the boys soccer team.
“My love for the sport and my passion to play really keeps me motivated,” Schulze said.
Off the field, Schulze continues to excel as a student and leader within the school community. He is a member of many clubs and honor societies while still maintaining strong academics.
The Terriers are currently 15-5, and they are now onto the first round of the Group I NJSIAA Central Jersey Tournament. They will face off against The Brearley School on Nov. 4.
As Schulze’s final season winds down, his record breaking run has left a mark on the history of Del Val boys soccer, and his leadership and consistency will be key in helping close out the team’s season.
