Del Val’s Buddies program and Unified Soccer team met on the soccer field for a Halloween-themed soccer game to celebrate the end of the season. The Delphi was on the scene to cover all of the action and to learn more about these programs and this annual event.

Gianna Roberts, Editor-in-chief
Gianna is a senior at Del Val and this is her fourth and final year working on The Delphi, now as the Editor-in-chief. In her free time, Gianna enjoys baking, reading and listening to music, especially Taylor Swift. In addition to The Delphi, Gianna is a part of Quill and Scroll, Model UN, National Honors Society and Habitat for Humanity.
Riley Nelson, News Editor
Riley Nelson is a sophomore and is in her second year working for The Delphi. She enjoys playing for the Del Val girls soccer team and writing for The Delphi. Riley plays travel soccer, listens to music, and enjoys spending time with her friends.
Agnes Hughes, Reporter
Agnes Hughes is a freshman, and this is her first year in The Delphi program. Agnes is in concert band, and in her free time she practices bass guitar. One of Agnes’ favorite books is “The Body” by Stephen King, along with the movie based on the book, Stand by Me. Agnes is happy when her cats are with her and she gets to spend time with them. Lastly, some of her favorite artists are Nirvana and The Neighborhood.
Austyn Hackmann, Managing Editor
Austyn Hackmann is a junior and this is her third year on The Delphi staff. Austyn is a member of the New Voices Student Leadership Institute, currently working on introducing an amended version of the New Voices Bill that protects private school advisors and students. Last year, Austyn began her advocacy journey when publishing an opinion piece titled “Students need New Voices now more than ever.” Shortly after publishing the article, she found out about the institute, applied for a position, and was accepted along with 25 other students across the country.
At Del Val, Austyn is involved in the Thespian and Quill and Scroll honor societies, Varsity Softball, and Peer Leaders. Outside of school, Austyn spends her time playing for a club softball team, working at a local bagel shop, and playing video games.
Alex Roberts, Reporter
Alex Roberts is a freshman reporter on The Delphi who wants to follow in his sister’s footsteps. He enjoys golfing and improving his cooking skills at home and is planning to join the golf team in the spring.
Mason Patkochis, Reporter
Mason Patkochis is a freshman at Del Val. This is his first year on The Delphi. He plays football for the Terriers and also enjoys playing lacrosse and basketball. Mason is also currently in the Biomedical Science Academy.
Doris Cruz Alvarado, Managing Editor
Doris is a senior at Del Val and she is a Managing Editor for The Delphi. In her free time, she likes to read and cook. At school, Doris participates in International club, SAFE Club and BC2M club.
Ellie Lyons, Managing Editor
Ellie Lyons is a senior at Del Val. This is her fourth year writing for The Delphi, and she is a Managing Editor. Ellie plays softball for Del Val and enjoys reading in her free time. She hopes to improve her editorial and leadership skills this school year.
Abby Eckert, Executive Editor
Abby Eckert is a senior and this is her third year working for The Delphi. She is president of Quill & Scroll Honor Society and parliamentarian for the National Honors Society. In her free time, she likes to hang out with her friends, play field hockey, volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, listen to music and paint. In the future, she hopes to pursue a career as a crime scene investigator.
Neha Sethi, Managing Editor
Neha is a senior at Del Val and is a Managing Editor and the Multimedia Editor for The Delphi. She is apart of the Biomedical Science Academy, Business Academy, Key Club and Peer Leaders. In her free time, she loves to play sports and watch TV shows.
Maggie Davis, Managing Editor
Maggie Davis is currently a senior at Del Val and a fourth year writer for The Delphi. She plays lacrosse for Del Val as well as basketball. Maggie spends almost all of her free time on a lacrosse field and is committed to Rowan University’s women’s lacrosse team.

Audrey Burns is a freshman at Del Val. This is her first year on The Delphi. She is also a member of the Book Club and Buddies Unified.

Cecilia Fransen is a freshman at Del Val. This is her first year on The Delphi. She is in the Biomedical Science Academy and on the cheer team.
