Under the sun, with sticks raised and families excitedly wait for their senior night introduction. Senior night isn’t just about the scoreboard, it’s about the girls’ accomplishments, acknowledging their hard work, and to celebrate all they’ve done for lacrosse.
Every ground ball, every sprint, every late-night practice led to this moment: one final home game honoring the seniors who left their mark on the field, to each other, and to the younger athletes. Girl’s lacrosse 2026 senior night took place on May 14th on the Del Val turf against West Windsor-Plainsboro North and won 15-3.
The Delphi asked the head coach Stephanie Rifflard to reflect on the seniors last few years.
“[The seniors] carried themselves with pride and played hard through everything, all the adversity through the season, and all with a smile,” Rifflard said. “It just makes them even more special. Statistically, all of them have been so dominant over the last couple of years, and they’ve carried this team, and I’m just really proud of them and I’m more proud of the way that they handled themselves and their composure.”
Some of the players reaching incredible milestones and breaking school records. One senior, Margaret Simpson, did break a school record that night the Delphi asked her to reflect not only on the season but also advice on achieving this milestone.
“It was really hard losing a lot of our seniors from last year, but we’ve done a really good job from the beginning to now to get a lot better and improve our skill,” Simpson said. “Definitely working at home and also making sure that you stay positive even when it’s hard.
