As awards season comes to an end, we must acknowledge that all nominees and winners certainly would not be who they are today without the support of their teachers.

Del Val could use an award show to celebrate the teachers who help make us who we are.

I’d like to pitch the Frizzys, named after everyone’s favorite animated teacher, Miss Frizzle from the Magic School Bus.

Potentially hosted by celebrities like Conan O’Brien, Michelle Obama, Jimmy Kimmel, Jack Black, or co-hosts Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Kevin Hart, this formal event would celebrate Del Val’s finest.

Categories would include best lesson plan, best slideshows, best view outside of the window, most organized, best WiFi, most artsy, best room temperature, best coach, best class playlist, as well as more important categories like best sub, best teacher duo and the pièce de résistance, best teacher.

The Academy, which would include members of the Performing Arts Academy, would vote on the winners. Don’t worry, this academy, like many others, would snub teachers of awards, too.

Tickets would be $150 at the door, and students can volunteer as seat fillers, though no volunteer hours would be provided.
