The boys soccer team celebrated Senior Night with a memorable evening that honored eight seniors and ended with a fitting victory, 2-1 against Immaculata. Despite facing a difficult season, the team gathered to finish the night on a positive note, celebrating both their win and the seniors contribution to the program.

On Oct. 13, prior to the game, eight seniors were recognized for their dedication and commitment to Del Val boys soccer: Henry Beltran, Michael Folmar, Conor Goldman, James Lampert, Tyler McGuire, Mark Melinchenko, Sawyer Switzer and Adrian Poloskei. Each senior walked out onto the field with their family members, where they were celebrated for their time with the team and presented with flowers.

“To me personally, senior night is a game where every senior, whether they’ve been on the team for four years or even if it is just their first year, can enjoy the game and enjoy being celebrated in their sport,” Goldman said.

Following the ceremony, Del Val came out strong, with Folmar scoring the first goal of the game during the first period. His goal gave the team an early advantage and set the tone for a thrilling night.

In the second period, Switzer added another goal for Del Val, extending the team’s lead. Although an opposing player managed to score later in the game, Del Val held on and secured the victory.

After the game, the seniors were treated to Chick-fil-A provided by the soccer parents. The meal gave the players an opportunity to relax, spend time together, and enjoy each other’s company after an emotional and meaningful evening. Surrounded by teammates and families, the seniors were able to celebrate not only the victory but also the memories and friendships they had built throughout their time in the program.

Senior Night was a chance to recognize the seniors for their contributions to Del Val boys soccer. After a challenging season, the team came together to finish the night strong with a well-earned victory.

With goals from Folmar and Switzer, support from their families and a victory to close out the evening, Del Val’s Senior Night became a celebration of teamwork, perseverance, and lasting friendships. For the eight seniors, it was a memorable way to honor their time on the field and enjoy one more special night together as part of the Del Val boys soccer community.
