Highlighting interesting peers with Humans of Del Val

October 23, 2026

Del Val is made up of many different and unique stories as represented by the Dawg Pound.

The Delphi is excited to announce its new segment called Humans of Del Val.

The overall idea stems from the popular Instagram page, “Humans of New York”, where photographer and writer, Brandon Stanton, interviews strangers all around New York City. These stories can be funny, interesting or inspirational– they are intended to highlight that every stranger you pass has a unique story.

At The Delphi’s annual field trip to Rutgers University, Westfield High School journalism teacher Shawn McDonald and her students did a presentation on their own “Humans of Westfield High School” page they created. The concept intrigued The Delphi members and inspired them to start their own for Del Val.

The purpose is to highlight the excellence that surrounds all Del Val students and staff. Every stranger in the halls has their own narrative to be told, and we hope to express every story.

Under the Humans of Del Val page, you will find new stories each week. Stay tuned to learn more about the unique stories that make up Del Val.
