Have you heard the good news? The cast of Del Val’s “Newsies” is heading to Broadway in the fall of 2024.
The rehearsals will start in late August with a preview following those rehearsals, which will be held on Sept. 19, 2024. The show will run for six months and then finally close on March 20, 2025.
The cast is expected to wow the crowds with its hard work, talent and dedication. The cast has been working since December to create such an amazing show for their community and their talents will now move far beyond the Del Val stage.
The directors cannot wait to kick out “Hamilton” and showcase the kids at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City. Head director, Clinton Ambs, could not wait to tell his family and friends about the amazing news that was sure to hit the streets right away.
“This is an opportunity that has never been offered to a small school like us, and we would be fools if the cast and I didn’t go to New York City and perform for thousands of people,” Ambs said. “This is a once in a lifetime achievement.”
The cast and crew are just as excited as the directors to go to the “Big Apple” and perform on one of the biggest stages in the country.
Senior Dakota Krouse is over the moon about being able to perform on Broadway in his favorite show.
“This has been a dream since I was 6-years-old, and all the love and support that my family, friends and community have given me has made me fly high and continue to grow as a performer and person,” Krouse said. “This is going to be show-stopping, and everyone is going to want to come back to see it again.”
