Come one and come all for a night of pure magic! Del Val’s Unified and Thespian programs are teaming up to create a night that you won’t forget.
Join them on Thursday, May 23 at 4 p.m. in Del Val’s auditorium to support their hard work on creating this year’s show: “Making Melodies and Memories.”
This program started because of a brilliant idea that two students had. Del Val alumnus Hannah Schwallie (‘23) and current senior Dakota Krouse (‘24) wanted to bring together the Unified performing arts students to explore theater as one. This program is designed to make students more confident and to help them look further into their futures for opportunities such as the Fall Play and Winter Musical.
“We believe that stepping onto the stage can be transformative,” advisor Heather Fleischman said. “This can help students develop skills and uncover hidden passions.”
The students have been preparing since March to create a mini showcase of live music, dancing, singing and acting that is free for any one who comes to watch them shine on stage.
Moving forward, the future is bright for this program. Whether the students are helping the Unified kids or they are on stage performing, everyone loves being a part of this collaborative experience.
“As we embark on this journey, we recognize that we are still in the process of shaping and refining Del Val’s Unified Theater,” Fleischman said. “We are committed to learning and growing together, ensuring that our program flourishes in the years ahead.”
