Del Val’s theater department created another successful fall play that was loved by all.
“Little Women,” a timeless tale, tells the story of the March sisters and their journey from childhood to adulthood, while going through love, loss, and hardships together.
Senior, Jessica McGlothlin, played the younger version of Josephine (Jo) March, one of the four sisters, and senior Adrienne Wolfram played grown up Josephine. These two seniors have been a part of Del Val’s theater program since their freshman years and are excited to be in their final fall play together.
The other three sisters were performed by senior Audrey LaRue playing Meg March; freshman Olivia Cino playing Beth March; freshman Lucy Devine playing Amy March.
These girls did such an amazing job in their roles. They embodied their characters perfectly, remembered every line, and gave the audience a performance to remember.
Student directors Maxim Verdicchio and Kallie Fiorito are proud of these girls for their hard work, dedication and love for the roles they played.
“I think that the show went amazing. The reviews we got from the audience members were continuously positive,” Kallie Fiorito said. “The cast and crew were over the moon after every performance.”
The sisters’ mother, Marmee, was performed by sophomore Julianna Soos, their father, Mr. March was performed by sophomore Ryan Carr, and their aunt, Aunt March, was performed by Senior Josie Pitzner.
Theodore “Laurie” Laurence, the charming and fun-loving boy next door, was played by junior Alex Apgar. His grandfather, Mr. Laurence, was played by junior Christian Shebchuk and Laurie’s tutor was played by sophomore Nolen Petty.
The audience fell in love with this show. Every part of it was brilliant. The set was well constructed to show the time period that the audience was going to walk into and the costuming added depth to the characters that were being portrayed.
While watching this performance, the audience could easily see that the directors, actors, and crew members put so much time and effort into their work to make this show one to remember.
“Being a part of this cast was so rewarding” says Jess McGlothlin. “It was such a fun experience and I am so happy that I was able to perform as Jo March in my final Del Val fall play.”
