As the school year begins to wrap up, the Class of 2025 nears the end of its high school journey. Two of their final events together will take place on Friday, June 13, 2025. The commencement ceremony will take place in the morning at Del Val, either on the football field or in the Hutch gym, weather-permitting.
The second will be Project Graduation, the final event for the senior class to participate in together. Project Graduation started in 1990 as a way to prevent underage drinking and drug use on graduation night. This marks the 35th anniversary of this overnight event.

Project Graduation will start at 8 p.m. on June 13 at Del Val, and students will be dropped off by their parents for the night. It’s recommended that students dress warmly and comfortably since the event continues into the morning.
Once everyone has arrived, there will be activities for students to do as they wait for the buses. There will be free food, an ice cream bar, photo opportunities, door prizes, Just Dance and a hypnotist. The prizes are donated by parents and businesses, with items ranging from suitcases, gift cards to TVs in previous years. Students will spend around three hours at the school before leaving.
Once 11 p.m. arrives, the chaperones will gather kids onto the buses, which will transport the students to the New York City boat tour.
The boat is limited to 140 people, so parents and students should sign up soon to ensure a spot.
The boat ride will take place from 1 to 4 a.m. The boat will pass by the Statue of Liberty, which is a great opportunity to take some pictures with your friends. Graduated classes still recall how cool the entire experience was.
“It was the proper ending to our high school career,” 2023 graduate Kaleigh Caulfield said. “It completed the year perfectly, and it was our one last hurrah as a class.”
