Governed-elect Mikie Sherrill is signaling a fast start to her administration, with an early agenda centered on making the state more affordable.
Sherrill has already created 10 policy “Action Teams” made up of New Jersey residents and national experts to guide her on her first 100 days, focusing on issues like energy disclosure and child protection.
Affordability remains her defining goal. After winning on a message of lowering costs, Sherrill said that voters gave her a big mandate to tackle the cost of living. Her campaign plan includes a Day One executive order to freeze energy bills and new rules requiring insurers to justify rate hikes.
Lowering taxes by increasing tax credits is critical to her campaign.
Those tax credits include the Earned Income Tax Credit, which helps low-to moderate-income workers and families get a tax break.
If someone qualifies for this, they can use the credit to reduce the taxes they owe or even increase the refund.
Sherrill also mentioned the Child Tax credit, which helps families with qualifying children get a tax break. It is a non-refundable credit that allows people with a qualifying child to reduce their tax liability.
Sherrill said on her campaign site, “I will be a governor who doesn’t just admire problems or watch from the sidelines – I will fight hard for working families every day.”
Sherrill plans to declare a state of emergency on utility costs to freeze rates.
She wants to make progress on housing reforms by introducing the INCREASE Housing Affordability Act, and focusing on children’s safety. This includes getting cellphones out of classrooms following Governor Phil Murphy’s cellphone ban and developing more childcare options.

All deceitful lies covered up as wonderful goals. She is murphy x 10. How is taking cell phones from kids making them safer at school. Its actually the opposite. The left just cant admit they messed up this state. They just make us pay for it and add more fuel to the fire.
We moved here 3 years ago and we are moving out as soon as the school year is done. The wife and I both agreed if ahe wins, we leave

How about disbanding illegal sanctuary status and using that money for rebates for your legal citizens!
