The MLB season has come to a close, and the champions are the Dodgers. The Dodgers won the series in five games and beat the Yankees 4-1.
The Dodgers trailed in the first game 3-2 in the bottom of the tenth. Freddy Freeman came up to the plate with the bases loaded. On the first pitch of the at-bat, Freeman launched a walk-off grand slam.
From then on, the Dodgers took control of the series with a 3-0 lead.
The Yankees won one game against the Dodgers in game four with a score of 11-4. This gave Yankees fans some hope that they could make a comeback.
In game five, the Yankees went up 5-0, but that wasn’t enough to win the game. In the fifth inning, they made many errors, leading to a tied game. The Yankees, however, took on another run, making the score 6-5, but the Dodgers scored two more runs to make the score 7-6.
In the end, the Dodgers had one of the biggest comebacks due to the mistakes made by the Yankees defense.
Freeman won the World Series MVP, despite playing on a bad ankle. He batted .300 and had four home runs and 12 runs batted in. He set an MLB record for the most home runs in consecutive games in the World Series. Freeman hit a home run six games in a row dating back to 2021 when he won a World Series with the Braves.
Baseball will resume in March, giving fans and players time to reflect on this amazing season.
MLB free agency will begin soon, and big names could be on the move. Stay tuned for another exciting season.
