On Nov. 25, 2024, a sports college signing took place in the Commons at Del Val. Friends and family came together to support these students in their decisions.
These seniors have been playing their sports ever since they were little, and they are excited to play with new teams in college.
Samantha Pinelli voiced her excitement about her future at Stevenson College.
”I really like the campus there,” Pinelli said. “My greatest accomplishment is getting to play in college.”
Pinelli’s mom inspired her throughout this journey, as she started playing field hockey in 7th grade and is now going into D3 field hockey.
Taylor Tavernite was inspired by her coach, Stephanie Rifflard, and her friends when selecting her future college, Iona. Tavernite started playing lacrosse in sixth grade and is now going on to play D1 lacrosse as a freshman in college.
Tavernite is excited to work with a new coaching staff and team. She believes that becoming captain of the Del Val’s girls’ lacrosse team has been her greatest accomplishment.
Tavernite and Pinelli have great futures ahead of them, with many more experiences and excitement coming to fulfill their dreams.
