On Sept. 8 2024, Kendrick Lamar announced via his social media platforms that he would be performing at Super Bowl LIX.
The Super Bowl is set for Feb. 9, 2025 and it will be played at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, which is the home of the New Orleans Saints.
This won’t be the first time Lamar performs at half time as he was a guest at Super Bowl LVI alongside Snoop Dog, Dr. Dre, Eminem, 50 Cent and Mary J. Bilge.
This time around, Kendrick Lamar will be joined by SZA. This duo has teamed up with each other multiple times for songs like “Luther,” “All the Stars,” “30 FOR 30” and “Gloria”.
There are rumors circulating about other possible performers joining Lamar, but nothing is set in stone yet.
Lamar is one of the most prolific artists of the current generation. He has 80.4 million monthly listens on Spotify.
To date, Lamar has 6 studio albums, which include albums like DAMN., Good Kid Maad City and To Pimp A Butterfly.
Lamar also has a total of 22 Grammy awards with 5 coming from this year’s Grammys. He won the awards for his song “Not Like Us”
This song was a part of the rap beef he had with Drake, another prolific artist. Kendrick Lamar and Drake had a feud that lasted most of early 2024.
With an upcoming performance at the Super Bowl, he has proved how he is certainly better than Drake and one of if not the best rapper in the industry right now.
