The Quakertown Fire Company hosts their annual Octoberfest event on Oct. 4. This year a portion of the profits generated will go to supporting Brayden Bond, a 7-year-old boy with an almost unheard of medical condition: Wyburn-Mason Syndrome.
“We learned about Brayden’s condition from the community and we are having a fundraising event this weekend,” president of the fire company, Rob Geib said.
In the past, profits generated during this event would go back into the fire company to support the fire and EMS teams.
“We decided that we were going to help support him through our fundraiser,” Geib said.
Other Organizations have also stepped in to support Bond such as the Del Val United Football and Cheer program and the Del Val Terriers.

A Gofundme has been created to support the Bond family. The fundraiser has received over $21,000 in donations as of publication.
“Hopefully, everybody can step up and support the effort for Brayden and others in need as they come up,” Geib said.
