The Delphi awarded its first SNO badge

Student Newspapers Online

The SNO ”Distinguished Sites” badge is awarded to the best newspapers on the SNO site

The Delphi is pleased to announce that it has been awarded its first Student Newspapers Online (SNO) badge, the “Site Excellence” badge.

To earn badges, a news staff must meet the specific requirements set by SNO. For the “Site Excellence” Badge, the newspaper must be exemplary in design, images, and content. Aspects such as the header, homepage, and photos are all taken into consideration, as well as spelling and grammar. In addition to these components, there must be an updated Staff and About page, and social media icons and links must be present.

The Delphi staff will continue its hard work in pursuing the remaining 5 badges offered by SNO. These include the “Continuous Coverage” badge, the “Story Page Excellence” badge, the “Excellence in Writing” badge, the “Multimedia” badge, and the “Audience Engagement Badge.”

Mr. Smith, who runs Del Val’s journalism class and club, is thrilled with The Delphi’s accomplishments. “The students have been working hard for over a year, and it’s great to see that their hard work is being recognized by a professional journalism organization.”

The Delphi is honored to have been awarded the “Site Excellence” badge and would like to thank the administration for allowing the staff to improve its newspaper with SNO.
