The 2025 basketball season for Del Val is around the corner, and it looks like a promising year with many returning players and coaches.
Michael DePaolo is returning for a 10th year to coach the Del Val boys basketball team, and he has big plans this season.
Many players will be returning this year; however, filling the roles of 1000 point scorer Eric Klemmer and versatile player Patrick O’Boyle will be a difficult task.
The team is relying on its size, as well as the guards, including returning players Tommy Denvir and Lochlyn Marsh, to work toward a victory.
The team is looking at multiple strengths and weaknesses for this season.
“The main thing I think we should work on is just team bonding and chemistry,” Denvir said.
Other strengths the team has are good athleticism, skill, strong dedication and motivation.
Coach DePaolo has major achievements he’d like to see this year.
“Obviously 20 wins again, that’d be the fourth year [in a row].” DePaolo said. “It’s never been done in Del Val history, having 20 wins in a row. Our goal: win a division.”
This year, senior David Hudock may get the most blocks in a player’s career in Del Val’s history.
Denvir will be looking to set himself up to be the next boys 1000 point scorer in his senior year, and this year will be crucial for him reaching this feat.
Marsh will also be a critical part of the team. He made a strong impact last year as a starting freshman, and, with three years left in his high school career, he could become a top player in Del Val history.
Everyone is preparing for the real season, and, after a good summer season, the team seems ready to reach the possible goals set.
