The Delaware Valley wrestling team takes on Hunterdon Central for its annual Gold Rush wrestling match on Jan. 7 in the Hutch gym.

Students can pack the Dawg Pound starting at 5:30 p.m. as the wrestlers will be announced at 6 p.m.

Ticket prices are $4 for adults, $3 for students and senior citizens are free. A table will be set up outside the Hutch with snacks and drinks available to purchase when you walk in.

Last year, the annual Gold Rush was a close loss for Del Val, who faced off against North Hunterdon, with a tight score of 34-33.

The Terriers are ready to take on Hunterdon Central this year and take the win. Del Val has wrestled Hunterdon Central over 40 times since 1965.

“…this rivalry is one we look forward to each year,” Coach Andy Fitz said.

The last time Del Val wrestled Hunterdon Central was Jan. 1, 2024, and Del Val won with an overall score of 34-28.

Fans are encouraged to wear their Gold Rush apparel, some of which will be on sale outside the gym while supplies last, and support the Terriers as they take on Hunterdon Central in an exciting match.

“This year should be another fun match, and we are looking forward to the event,” Fitz said.
