For the past four games, the girls on the field hockey team have been upholding a winning streak and they are 5-0. In their last game on Wednesday, Sept. 16, they scored 6 goals against South Hunterdon in the first half and ending the game with a score of 9-0.

Head Coach Stephanie Rifflard has been coaching the team for 15 years, and she is very proud of the teamwork that the girls have demonstrated so far.

“We came out very dominant,” Rifflard said. “Our passing was good, our spacing was good. All together, teamwork was really good. I don’t think we ever let South into the game.”

Throughout most of the game, the team played offense and was able to score a ton of goals. The game involved goals from junior Margaret Prouty, junior Alyssa Deets, and sophomore Amelia Rodriquez. Throughout the game senior Sadie Erling, junior Grace Prouty, and junior Lydia Bagley brought the ball to the other side of the field brining them to play offense many time.

Erling feels that the girls have been very stoked about the season. She believes that the girls are giving their all during practices and games.

“I feel like we have been very confident in practice. We play with all our hearts so when we go into the games we are very confident. I feel like we have been very hyped for the season and all of our games.” Erling said.

Overall, the team has been thriving so far this season, winning every game up to date. The girls have been working hard and are preparing for their next match, where Cranford will come to Del Val at 1 pm this Saturday, Sept 19.

“We have tougher competition coming up, so it should be fun to see how we compete in those games, especially this weekend against Cranford,” Rifflard said.
