This Wednesday, Oct. 14, students will have a different start to their school day as seniors participate in Senior Sunrise while freshmen, sophomores and juniors take the PSAT.
Senior Sunrise will begin at 7:30 a.m., down by the turf, giving seniors an opportunity to eat breakfast and enjoy time together. When coming back up to the school, seniors must check in at the Main Office. From 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., students can relax before attending a senior presentation.
The morning will continue with several activities for seniors. At 10:30 a.m., representatives from the Marines, Air Force and RVCC will be accessible in the gym, while the cafeteria will be holding essay help, an Apply Now station and a STAR Completion station with school counselors.
At 11 a.m., seniors can participate in yearbook signing and complete their Selective Service requirements. The morning will conclude with seniors completing their senior signatures at 11:15 a.m.
Meanwhile, underclassmen will take the PSAT from 7:37 a.m. to 12:01 p.m. Students will test in their assigned classrooms and should arrive prepared with a fully charged Neo device and a pencil for scratch work. Bringing a handheld calculator is optional for students who prefer to use one.
Students should remember that cell phones, AirPods, smartwatches and other electronic devices are not permitted during the PSAT.
With seniors celebrating an important milestone and underclassmen preparing for a vital academic assessment, Wednesday will be a busy morning for all. Students should review their schedules and make sure they know where they need to be before arriving to school.
