Starting at the beginning of marking period three, students will have access to Nintendo Switches for use in the Commons. Head of Curriculum, Tara Civitillo, hopes this entertaining pastime for students can form into a new ESports team at Del Val.

Jocelyn Denné leads the class in a combination. Dance teacher Heather Fleischman has found her to be a huge help in her new position as a TA for the Introduction to Dance Class. “Her role in the class is to lead exercises, to design exercises and to give corrections,” Fleischman said. “She’s just another teacher. She just happens to be a student.”

Lillyana is a sophomore at Del Val and she is the Photo Editor for The Delphi. Lillyana is also a competitive gymnast who loves to write and take pictures in her free time.

Mr. White, the organizer of the event, sat all the teams down and gave them a run down of the rules and reminded them what they're playing for. Hoops for Hunger is an annual event that fundraises for Hunterdon County food pantries.

Each team played a series of rounds against the other teams. Games were six minutes with substitutions at the three minute mark.

Sophomore, Alex Apgar, was able to secure the win and the first round bye! Apgar collected the most money from the community securing his first round bye and overall win. Del Val hopes to continue the Wing Bowl for years to come, as it was a huge success.

To ensure the competition was fair, the teachers went around to make sure each contestant fully ate the wings, leaving no meat behind.

The crowds fan favorite team may not have won overall, however they did win best enterouage. This team s still being talked about around the school as everyone wants them to make a re-appearance at another school event.

Contestants who did not earn the first round bye, had to participate in the first round. To keep this wing bowl competitive, not every contestant in the first round made it through, being eliminated.

Certain teachers volunteered to help provide the contestants with more wings, if they were to run out. These teachers dressed as chickens and helped set up the wing bowl.

To make things extra exciting, each contestants entourage was able to run out into the gym after being announced.

Senior Ben Levy showed the sportsmanship expected of a Terrier before his Gold Rush victory.

Del Val held its first, and hopefully not last, Wing Bowl at the winter pep rally. This year's pep rally saw Tuffy replaced by a giant chicken in honor of the first annual Wing Bowl competition.
