A poem

Emilia Tippett, The Delphi Staff

Life creeps in with long spiraling fingers

and does not apologize for the bits, bobs, and burs

in this wreath upon our heads.

The light of a thousand years has shown that we,

upon this misty world, have done nothing

to show that we see that peculiar light

and that we have done nothing to change.
