Vincent Rainey is seen as an up-and-coming wrestler by the coaching staff.

Vincent Rainey is currently a freshman at Del Val in his first year as a wrestler for the Terriers.

He has been wrestling for eight years and plans to continue his wrestling career throughout high school. Rainey also enjoys playing golf, and after golfing for five years, he will also be joining the Del Val golf team this spring.

Rainey has lived in New Jersey for his entire life. He was a part of the 2023 graduating class for Holland Township Elementary School. While Holland did not offer a wrestling program, he did play baseball for the school team. However, Rainy has called it quits on his baseball career for golf.

Rainey took part in the Rams recreational wrestling team throughout his younger years. At Del Val, he wrestles at 106 lbs., and he won eight out of his eleven matches.

“My advice to the upcoming freshman that want to be a part of the wrestling team next year is to sign up,” Rainey said. “It is an exciting program that has coaches that push you to your best abilities and teammates that feel like family.”

Rainey has two younger siblings, Valentina and Tim, who both also hope to become Terrier athletes when they get to Del Val.

“My first season as a wrestler here at Del Val was one of my favorites,” Rainey said. “This school has such a great atmosphere, and I’m signing up again next year.”
