On Jan. 25, 2024, Del Val’s Sport and Spirt Club went to the Flemington Area Food Pantry to donate the money made during the Wing Bowl. The Wing Bowl was able to raise and donate $845 from the students at the school.
“Donating money was so fun and I’m happy to know that family’s will be fed because of the donations,” Alex Apgar said when asked about the money he made for the Wing Bowl.
The food pantry is open Monday through Thursday from 9 AM until 11:30 AM, every other Wednesday evening and certain Saturdays. They are also open Monday to Friday until 3:30 PM to accept donations. They have an option for online ordering and a drive-thru service as well where a volunteer will take your order when you arrive.
Last year they received 17,000 visits from families and 2,000 deliveries.
You can volunteer at the Flemington Area Food Pantry by reaching out and filling out an application. School sports teams and clubs can also help out the food pantry, as one of the options they have is running a food drive. The pantry also hosts special events throughout the year, and other organizations can also have events to support them.
