Visiting artist Tomas Gonzalez with Art Teachers Mr. Farnsworth and Mrs. Ruppert

Olivia Koziel, The Delphi Staff, Class of '19

Mrs. Ruppert and Mr. Farnsworth have many plans for the art department this year. They are planning trips to art museums in Philadelphia and New York, and they also just brought back the Visiting Artists series; however, this year the visiting artist will be coming in during the class periods rather than at lunch. Their decision was made so that more students would be able to meet the artists and hear their stories.

Mrs. Ruppert and Mr. Farnsworth are also very excited to bring more art into Del Val, either through artwork created by the students or by artists from our community. The department is also working with two prominent art shows to help the young artist at Del Val bring their artwork out into the community.

What has Mrs. Ruppert and Mr. Farnsworth the most excited is the new Art Academy that has come to Del Val. The academy features a full year course that allows students who are planning to pursue art as a career path. This class is also the first full year course that has been offered at Del Val since Mr. Farnsworth has come to work here.
